Slow Swing Saturday

Special Edition – Masquerade Ball

Slow Swing Saturday

On Saturday the 3rd of December Slowfeet Studio organises a Slow Swing Saturday with an epic party!

During the day there will be Slow Bal workshops for three different levels. It’s a perfect opportunity for new Slow Bal enthusiasts to get a taste of this beautiful Swing dance. Dancers who already have experience with Slow Bal, will also be challenged during the workshops. To improve your solo dancing, we added a Slow Solo Jazz class to the schedule!

We end the day with an epic party: a Masquerade Ball. So put on your most fabulous outfit and masque, and dance the night away with us.

Mike Sonder Slow Swing Saturday

Mike Sonder

Mike has taught dance in 20 countries and counting. He currently teaches Lindy Hop, solo Jazz, and many different Blues styles.
Mike combines his knowledge of music, functional anatomy, physics, life, and a plethora of dance forms to create classes that are uniquely insightful, inspiring, and challenging. Mike strives to put himself in his students’ shoes so that he can teach as intuitively and thoroughly as possible. He loves seeing students’ eyes light up when they understand a concept or feel a movement work naturally in their body for the first time.
Mike loves teaching private lessons and wants to teach YOU. Private lessons are great for individually tailored learning and physically feeling movements. If you don’t know what to work on, no problem. Mike enjoys figuring out the best way to help you get to your next level of dancing.
Deirdre Schoemaker danser

Deirdre Schoemaker

After teaching Lindy Hop for several years to the local dance scene of Rotterdam, Deirdre has devoted herself to dancing to slow jazz music. In 2019 she started her own dance studio for Slow Bal. Since then, she has taught weekly Slow Bal classes in Rotterdam and workshop weekends in The Netherlands and abroad.

Besides Slow Bal, she is currently exploring Slow Swing, integrating moves and techniques from Slow Bal, Lindy Hop, Balboa and Blues.

Joost en Beau Slow Bal

Joost en Beau

Throwing girls up in the air was a weekly sport for Joost, as he started arcobatic rock and roll as a kid. But in the end, Swing stole his heart.

He fell in love with all the technical aspects of the dance, the creativity, the expression and connection. After Lindy Hop, Balboa was quickly added to his Swing repertoire. Later he was inspired to dance to slow jazz music. And Slow Bal was perfect for that!

Ever since Beau stepped on the dance floor, she hasn’t been able to stop. In her
enthusiasm she started attending socials and took lessons in Slow Bal and Lindy Hop. She experienced Slow Bal as a welcome relaxation, it offers her technical depth and a special connection with her dance partner. On the other hand Lindy Hop makes her energetic and cheerful.

With both dance forms she experiences an intense feeling of happiness and she’d love to share this with others.
